ScanDocket

Privacy policy

Effective September 9, 2026

ScanDocket is made by Makanations. This policy explains how the ScanDocket iPhone app handles information.

The short version

ScanDocket processes documents on your iPhone. We do not upload your documents, recognized text, signatures, or scan history to Makanations. The app does not require an account, does not show ads, and does not include third-party analytics or advertising software.

You choose when information leaves ScanDocket. This can happen when you export or share a file, open a detected link or address, add an event or reminder, save a contact, copy text, import a file from a cloud provider, or make a purchase through Apple.

Documents and text recognition

Scans, imported documents, recognized text, signatures, search data, and document history are processed on your device. ScanDocket uses Apple frameworks for text recognition, document analysis, translation, and supported on-device language features. ScanDocket does not send this content to a Makanations server.

Scans and their recognized text are stored in the app’s private storage on your iPhone so they can appear in History. They stay there until you delete them or remove the app. If iPhone backup is enabled, iOS may include app data in a device backup under your Apple backup settings.

Camera, Photos, Files, and the Share Extension

ScanDocket uses the camera only when you choose to scan. When you use the system photo picker or file picker, the app receives only the photo or file you select.

Files selected from iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or another Files provider may be transferred to your device by that provider. That transfer is controlled by the provider and its privacy policy. ScanDocket processes the selected file locally after it is available to the app.

The ScanDocket Share Extension lets you send a supported document from another app into ScanDocket. The extension copies the selected file into storage shared only by ScanDocket and its extension so the app can import it.

Actions you choose

ScanDocket may find dates, addresses, contact details, phone numbers, email addresses, and links in a document. Nothing is sent or saved to another app just because ScanDocket found it.

If you choose an action:

  • Calendar and Reminders: ScanDocket asks for the required Apple permission and writes only the event or reminder you chose.
  • Contacts: ScanDocket opens Apple’s contact editor with the detected details so you can review them before saving.
  • Maps, phone, email, and websites: ScanDocket passes the selected value to the appropriate app or service.
  • Copy: ScanDocket places the selected text on the iOS clipboard.

Information you send to another app or service is handled under that provider’s privacy policy.

Exporting and sharing

Exported files are created on your device. When you use the standard iOS share sheet, you choose the person, app, or service that receives the file. ScanDocket does not receive a copy. Files saved or shared outside ScanDocket must be managed or deleted in the destination where you placed them.

ScanDocket Pro purchases

Apple processes ScanDocket Pro subscriptions through the App Store. ScanDocket checks the purchase and subscription status that Apple provides so it can unlock paid features and show accurate renewal information. Makanations does not receive your payment card details. Apple’s handling of purchases is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and App Store terms.

Data collected by Makanations

Makanations does not use ScanDocket code or an integrated SDK to collect personal data, document content, scan history, searches, usage events, or diagnostics. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not sell or rent app data.

Apple may provide Makanations with App Store sales reports and aggregate analytics or diagnostic information from people who chose to share it with developers. Apple controls that collection under its own privacy policy. ScanDocket does not intentionally put document images, recognized text, signatures, or scan history in its diagnostic logs.

If you contact Makanations through the support website, the information you choose to submit is handled under the website privacy policy. It is not collected by the ScanDocket app.

Your choices and deletion

You can delete one scan, selected scans, or all scan history inside ScanDocket. Deleting a scan removes its saved images and recognized information from the app’s local storage. Removing ScanDocket from your iPhone removes its app storage. Files you previously exported or shared must be deleted from their destination separately.

You can review or revoke Camera, Contacts, Calendar, and Reminders permissions in iOS Settings. You can manage or cancel a ScanDocket Pro subscription through Apple’s subscription settings.

Because ScanDocket has no account and Makanations does not keep a server copy of your documents or app history, there is no ScanDocket cloud account to delete. If you need help with local deletion or permissions, contact us through the support page below.

Changes to this policy

If ScanDocket’s data practices change, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy information. The effective date at the top will show when the policy was last revised.
